I haven’t done mods on trucks before so i looked up how much a typical lift would cost and it looks like about $1,500 so just having extra tires for $8,400 total sounds like a complete rip off. The manager calls me later that day and explains that the lift is 1 inch in the front and not 100% sure for the back and that the “special” wheels are not new wheels but just different Offroad tires (which does not include the original tires btw, if i want the original tires, it’ll be $400 extra) and that package is $8,400 in addition to the MSRP. So i put a $500 refundable deposit down right away. The sales person said he doesn’t know much about it and that another manager will call me back but if i decide not to put a deposit down now, it can go to another person on the waiting list. Not so fast,… they tell me that this particular 4Runner will come with a Lift and “special” set of wheels which costs $8,400 extra. I immediately confirm that I’d put a deposit down IF they are selling it at MSRP and they say that they don’t sell any 4Runners above MSRP. So I’ve been on a hunt for a TRD Pro (in LR or MGM) or the ORP in MGM and i finally got a call from a local dealer that they have a TRD Pro in LR that’s being built in Japan right now that I can put my name on.
